Sekinchan is a small town on the west coast of Malaysia. It’s home to the Paddy Processing Factory, with a museum about the local rice industry. The elaborate Nan Tian Temple sits in one of the town’s many rice fields. Near Redang Beach, the Wishing Tree is draped with red ribbons. Just south, the fishing village of Bagan has many seafood restaurants.

1)Endless view of green paddy field.

This is a scenic area for people who wants to take a picture for keep a memento of your visit to Sekincan. The sea of paddy field is both refreshing and nice to see.

Truly a Photography heaven. Go early before 7 am and you can enjoy the sunrise and avoid the heat. Green field in mid March to May and mid September to mid November. Harvest time will present a view of golden field in mid May and mid November.

2)Twilight scene in Sekinchan-Pantai Redang Beach

This is a small beach in the Sekinchan fishing village. Nice windy and beautiful scenery for photography. Relaxing place to chill out and rest under the tree canopies.

While feeling the sea wind and enjoy the beauty scenery on the sea, may fly a kite in the beautiful seashore sand beach.

3)Sekinchan Old Red Wishing Tree

There is a fishing village and boats on the side where the Wishing Tree is. A nice place take photographs with the old red Wishing Tree.

Historical tree with many strips of wishes hanging from every branches. There is a small temples for you to get wishing cloth. Write down the wish and drop into the trees. The wishing tree is opposite of Redang beach.

Typically people will stay 2.5hrs over here to take a rest and enjoy the nature in the beach. It’s mainly for stop over to Sekinchan.

Sticky Chicken Rice (糯米雞/Nuo Mi Fan) & Food

Restaurant Riri Fatt Sekinchan is located on Jalan Besar, Sekinchan. Recommended for its breakfast.

It is a shop with many hawker food stalls in it, all selling local food. There are many local people eating here.

The most population food are sticky chicken rice , noodle , pumpkin special noodle , 3 colour milk tea, Chee cheong fun (rice noodle roll) , fresh sandwich and prawn dumpling. Everything served in a huge amount. Big portion of noodle , big and fresh sandwich plus their yummy prawn dumpling

5) Seafood central in Sekinchan

There are many seafood restaurant around the Sekinchan, such as Hao Xiang Chi seafood restaurant, Restaurant Bagan Sekinchan, Kim Kee restaurant and more. However Jian Qi restaurant 建旗海鲜饭店 should be the most famous in town, as the restaurant has been present on the TV show.

Jian Qi restaurant mainly serves shark meat, those who dislike shark meat, you can still order squid, crab, and prawn. Affordable price for people to taste the fresh seafood in Sekinchan. Take a lunch with under RM150 around 6 people.

6) Ah Ma House 阿嬤的家

Ah Ma Bakery is a traditional bakery shop. The products is mainly cook by the traditional way and recipe from grandmother. This shop keeps & display some old memories items which is a good idea for photography purposes. It has many interesting artifacts and all sort of local snacks. You can see the traditional ‘kuih kapit’ being made over charcoal.

7) Visit Paddy Processing Gallery

This is a good place for tourist to visit and learn more about paddy processing and also about Sekinchan. Paddy Processing Factory & Gallery also has a mini museum for tourist to learn more about paddy processing and the history of Sekinchan.
Tourism can receive a view of the paddy processing area in the factory. However, tourism also can learn about many different kinds of rice, traditional paddy processing methods, showing traditional ways of harvesting the paddy and so on.
